GCSEPod Mobile App

This guide for students explains how to download the GCSEPod mobile app and the functionalities it offers.

Our GCSEPod mobile app can be downloaded on both iPhone and Android and is designed for students to easily view playlists, take quizzes and assignments set by their teachers and access Key Stage 4 content.

Find and download the app

You can find the GCSEPod mobile app by going to the App Store or Play Store and searching for GCSEPod - Revision & Study App.


Log in

Students are able to log in using their GCSEPod username and password or via Google or Office 365 single sign on.

  • There is no need to create a separate account.

  • Their login credentials will be the same in the app as on the online platform.

  • Resetting a student's username or password can be done by any teacher and will affect the student's mobile app credentials.

๐Ÿ“Œ Note: You will not be able to log in to the mobile app using a teacher account.


Manage subjects

To edit which subjects are available within the app, students will need to follow the steps below:

  1. From the home screen, tap the Subjects icon.

  2. Tap the cog icon in the top right corner.

  3. Select the subjects you need to see.

  4. Deselect the subjects you don't need.

  5. Tap Confirm.

The same can also be done by going to Settings:

  1. Tap the Settings icon.

  2. Tap My Subjects.

  3. Select the subjects you need to see.

  4. Deselect the subjects you don't need.

  5. Tap Confirm.

๐Ÿ“Œ Note: While some Key Stage 3 content is available, the GCSEPod mobile app has been designed with Key Stage 4 in mind.


Watch pods and take quizzes

Watch pods

  1. Tap the Home icon and select a subject.

  2. Select a unit and a topic.

  3. Tap Watch to access the playlist.

  4. See a list of pods under the video player and select which video you want to watch next.

Download, bookmark and share

Once you have accessed a pod by following the steps above:

  1. Tap the Share button to copy the pod's link or share on social media.

  2. Tap Download offline to save the pod to your Downloaded area.

  3. Tap the Bookmark icon to save the pod to your Bookmarks area.

  4. Select Add to collection, then tap an existing collection or create a new one to save your bookmark to a specific collection.

Take a quick quiz

  1. Tap the Home icon and select a subject.

  2. Select a unit and a topic.

  3. Tap Quick quiz, then Start quiz.


Homework

To view their assigned homework, students will need to follow the steps below:

  1. Tap the Homework icon.

  2. Select one of the three menus to filter homework:

    • Upcoming

    • Overdue

    • Completed

  3. Tap one of the assignments and select Start assigment.

๐Ÿ“Œ Note: Once submitted, you will not be able to retake the assignment unless your teacher resets it for you.


Saved

Pods the students have downloaded or bookmarked can be accessed by following the steps below:

  1. Tap the Saved icon.

  2. Select one of the menus below:

    • Bookmarks: All pods you've taped the Bookmark icon on.

    • Collections: All pods you've saved within a collection.

    • Downloaded: All pods you've downloaded, which will be available within the app even when offline.


Account settings

Below are the account settings available for students to edit.

  1. Tap the Settings icon and select Account.

  2. Tap Recovery Email to change the email used to reset your password.

  3. Tap Username or Password to change your login credentials.

  4. Tap Notifications and select the toggle to enable or disable Push Notifications.

  5. Click Log Out to sign out of the app.
