Access GCSEPod is an online learning platform where we've created a complete course, covering 28 GCSE subjects, that we've split into three-five minute videos called pods. We use a dedicated community of teachers and ex-examiners to help us write these.

To ensure that everything your child has access to is relevant to their education, we create all of our content in-house and ensure it's exam board specific.

We analysed over 3500 students and compared their GCSEPod usage to their grades and predicted grades. On average, regular users of GCSEPod achieved one grade higher per subject than students who didn't use GCSEPod.

Pods

To find pods for a certain topic or module, either click the relevant subject and scroll through the list or use the search bar at the top of the page. When you click a subject from the home page, you'll see a list of topics specific to your child's exam board.

So that your child can refer back to a certain pod later, you can use the favourite

icon. To find these later, click the My Favourites tab.

Check and challenge

Check and challenge is a quizzing system built into the site. To be able to prove to themselves that they've learned that content and they're going somewhere with it, they can use the check and challenge system.

  1. From the home page, select the relevant subject.

  2. Select the relevant topic then select a module.

  3. Click Select check and challenge.

  4. For the relevant group, click Continue.

  5. Complete the quiz.

πŸ€“ Tip: If your child is unsure about a certain question during the quiz, they can click Get a hint.

Assignments

In the My Assignments tab, you can see all assignments that your child's teachers have set. You can see which ones your child has completed and their score, as well as which ones they haven't started and their due dates.

If your child's school uses the assignments area and your child has completed an assignment, they'll be asked to watch a number of pods and asked some questions. The system automatically marks some of these are automatically marked and the teacher marks some.

Because the pods and questions are attached, we can provide your child with instant feedback on what they need to watch to improve their score the next time.

  1. For a completed assignment, click View Boost Playlist.

  2. Click each of the questions to see what your child answered and the correct answer.

  3. Click the play icon to watch the related pods.

To focus in on the areas in which your child needs the most support, they can also use the My Boost Playlist tab. All of the playlists in this section are based on your child's activity on an assignment.

When a teacher sets an assignment for your child or provides feedback on your child's answers, you can see this in the notifications section at the top-right of the page.
