Once you have located a Pod playlist there are further options you can use to sort Pods into playlists, download them, and modify the way the Pod is displayed.
Playing a Pod
The Pod, or video, is displayed on the left side of your screen.
Click the video or the play icon to start the first pod in the playlist. You can play the next Pod in the playlist by selecting it from the list on the right.
At the bottom of the video player you have options to play or pause, alter the volume, and make the Pod full screen.
Speed adjustment
You can change the playback rate of the Pod to speed up and slow down. This is perfect for students to take notes, or for teachers to quickly check the content fits into their next lesson.
When playing a video, hover over the 1x icon at the bottom and select the speed you want to play the video at.
Subtitles
To turn subtitles on or off, click the closed captions (CC) symbol. Subtitles are available on all Pods except those in languages.
β
You can customise the look of the subtitles by clicking caption settings.
Subtitles: Modern foreign language pods
Pods in Spanish, German and French do not currently have subtitles embedded onto the video player.
Instead, you can access a transcript by clicking the Transcript button underneath the video.
Picture-in-picture view
Use the Picture-in-picture icon to open the Pod in picture-picture view. This is located in the bottom taskbar on each video, next to the closed captions (CC) symbol.
This pops the Pod out of the window and allows you to continue playing the Pod in a smaller window while moving to other pages.
β
π Note: In some browsers, this option is on the video player itself.
