Why it's important to make your lessons more interactive

Using Access GCSEPod in the classroom increases familiarity and reputability with students and can increase engagement in lessons.

The short video format of pods makes them easy to slot into lessons and you can use them in a variety of ways.

It's ideal to follow up an interactive pod lesson with a homework activity linked to the same pod.

What you can do to make your lessons more interactive

  • Use the search function on the Access GCSEPod website to locate relevant pods or navigate through topics and subtopics to view playlists. Try using a pod as a starter or plenary.

  • Ask students to complete a Check & Challenge live, if you have access to devices in lessons, then review the anonymised results together and discuss them as a class.

  • Check the Teaching Tips and Learning Activities banners on the Access GCSEPod website for tried and tested ways to incorporate Access GCSEPod into lessons. Ask students to complete activities after watching a pod in a lesson.
