You can edit an exam-style assignment's questions and videos at step 3 while setting up the assignment.

⚠️ Important: Once the exam-style assignment has been set up and published, you can no longer edit its questions or videos. In this case, you will need to delete the existing assignment and publish a new one.

  1. Follow the steps in our article on creating an exam-style assignment.

  2. On step 3 of the process, click Edit Questions & Videos.

  3. Select the Questions tab.

  5. Click the recycle bin icon to delete the question.

  6. Click the Videos tab.

  7. Click the recycle bin icon to delete the video.

  8. Click Continue when done.

Edit exam-style assignment details

You can now edit the assignment details.

  1. Enter a name in the Assignment title field.

  2. Set a start and end date.

  3. Click Add next to Classes and Students and Additional Markers to add students and markers for this assignment.

  4. Enable or disable the Preferences below:

    • Enable AI marking for open-text answers: When enabled, open-text responses in this assignment will be automatically analysed and prepared for your review.

    • Randomise questions and answers: Mixes up the order of questions and answer options for a unique experience for every student.

    • Control when results are released to Students: A great way to avoid cheating. By ticking this box you stop the results of the assignment from being automatically given to the students on submission. Instead, you will be able to release the results at any time you want. If you wish, you can keep the result hidden indefinitely.

    • Do not allow late submissions: When enabled, students will no longer be able to submit the assignment once the deadline has passed.

  5. When done, click Publish Assignment.

  6. You can now copy the link to the assignment or share it directly to Google Classroom or Teams.
