GCSE Results Day 2026

From celebrating exam results to planning for September, discover the latest GCSEPod news, updates and opportunities for your school.

Written by Kate Storey

Results Day is always a significant moment in the school calendar. For students, it's the culmination of years of learning and hard work. For schools, it's a chance to see those efforts reflected back in the achievements, progress and next steps of the young people you've supported along the way.

While today is about recognising those achievements, it's also the point at which many schools start thinking about the year ahead. If you're looking to strengthen retrieval practice, develop more independent learners, gain better insight into student progress and support stronger outcomes across the curriculum, you'll find plenty of inspiration in this edition.

Updated Your MIS or School Systems This Summer?

We know many schools use the summer break to make improvements to their systems, whether that's changing MIS providers, updating servers, or making other IT changes.

To help ensure a smooth start to September, we've sent a checklist of important system checks to your IT team. Please make sure the relevant members of your IT team have seen this email, or forward it to the colleague responsible for your MIS, network or system integrations. You can view the digital version here.

Before the new academic year begins, please check that your GCSEPod integration and MIS connection remain active and working correctly.

If your school uses manual uploads, don't forget to:

  • Upload new student records

  • Update classes and year groups

  • Review and remove any leavers

Taking a few minutes to complete these checks now will help ensure staff and students can access GCSEPod from day one in September without interruption.

Need help with manual uploads? Read our guide below.
