There are two ways for schools to create student accounts:

  • Manually

  • Importing from the MIS

For schools that import students from the MIS, all student accounts are created inactive. Each student activates their account when they first log in by creating a username and password.

The process is as follows:

  1. The MIS manager at the school adds the student to the MIS.

  2. Overnight, data from the MIS syncs with Access GCSEPod.

  3. The next day, the student account is created. While it exists on GCEPod, it is at this stage inactive.

  4. The student activates their account by selecting I'm new to GCSEPod at the login page.

Activate a student's account as a teacher

If the student is unable to activate their own account, any user with a teacher account can activate it for them by following the steps below:

  1. Click Monitor from the menu on the left.

  2. Enter the student's name in the Search for a student search box.

  3. Click their name to go to their profile.

  4. Click View/Edit User.

  5. Click Activate User.

  6. Enter a username and password for the student.

  7. If you'd like them to be prompted to change the password when they first log in, tick the Force a password reset on login? box.

  8. Click Activate.
