When student accounts are first imported from the MIS, they are created inactive.

Students activate their own account when they log in for the first time. This only needs to be done once, after which the account is active and they can log in directly.

If you would like to pre-activate student accounts so they won't need to activate their account themselves, you can do this by following the steps below.

⚠️ Important: When uploading the file by following the steps below, make sure that the ID column is added and that each student has the correct ID as exported from GCSEPod.

If the ID is missing from the file, you risk duplicating accounts instead of activating them.

  1. Click Monitor from the menu on the left.

  2. Click All Students, then click Export.

  3. Open the downloaded file in Excel.

  4. Make sure that the first column is the ID for each student.

  5. Edit the file so the following mandatory columns display:

    • ID

    • First Name

    • Last Name

    • Username

    • Password

    • Date of Birth

  6. Populate the Username and Password columns. The password can be the same but the username needs to be unique.

  7. Save your file.

  8. In GCSEPod, go back to All Students and click Import Users.

  9. Click Upload CSV.

  10. Select your file.

  11. Select the row that contains headers, then click OK.

  12. Make sure all headers are set up correctly, then click OK.

  13. Click Proceed and create Users.
